A neighborhood restaurant from Ori Menashe and Genevieve Gergis (chef-owners of Bestia and Bavel) located in the heart of East Hollywood, Saffy’s celebrates its middle eastern flavors and design while honoring its Los Angeles heritage. NCA Studio worked closely with the owner and interior designer to bring their ‘70s era Moroccan design into the historical Art Deco building and transform the previously all deco restaurant space into this middle eastern gem.
The space is divided into three areas, each with its own unique ambiance. The main dining room features high ceilings, brass chandeliers, stained glass windows and plush seating, which creates an intimate dining experience. The bar area is lively with a long curving bar, beautiful bar shelving, playful wall patterns, and arched doorways that make it perfect for relaxing and enjoying a cocktail or two after a long day.
The kitchen stands out with vibrant colors, flames of the live fire and the active bustle of the chefs preparing mouthwatering middle eastern delicacies. Pale pink hues, golden accents, light wood tones and art deco-stained glass fill the space with a lighthearted and inviting energy. Diners gaze directly into the expanded open kitchen where sparks fly from the live firewood grill and the energetic buzz of the chefs fills the air. This is the perfect setting for good food, good times and celebrating with friends.
