State of the Art Broadcast Media Center in Santa Monica California
KCRW is the West Coast’s most progressive radio station and broadcast media company. It is constantly evolving to produce world renowned music programming and culturally relevant news content. Their creative spirit drives this amazing content as well as demands that they stay at the leading edge of media and broadcast technology. The construction of a 3-story, 34,000 sf building on the Santa Monica College Media and Technology campus provided KCRW a state-of-the-art production, editing, and performance facilities to support that content as well as the creative and collaborative office space that will become KCRW’s new home. The building is projected to be LEED Silver certified.
Nicole Cannon started the project as the Project Architect with Clive Wilkinson Architects for the KCRW building, and then after opening NCA Studio she evolved into the role of KCRW’s Project Manager. As Project Manager, NCA Studio represented KCRW’s needs during construction, monitored the building progress, managed budgets, and resolved issues as they arose. As part of this process, NCA Studio coordinated with an extensive consultant team of broadcast designers/ integrators, construction managers, architects, college staff and contractors to ensure these developments were in sync with the building construction and in line with client expectations.
